Every writer dreams of seeing their name etched onto a bestselling book. They have the passion and the desire to inspire others through the power of words.
However, many aspiring authors have difficulty either getting ideas or putting them on paper.
The basic rules to writing are important, sure — grammar, spelling, and punctuation — but the fundamentals do not, unfortunately, make a novel. Your story is unique to itself and no matter what the plot is, it can always be enhanced and polished.
Every time you write, ask yourself: is every adverb in the paragraph necessary? Are your characters introduced gradually? Is the plot believable and smooth?
The truth is, every moment in your life has a story. Even that dusty toothbrush lying in the corner of a bathroom can have its own story. Where did it come from? How long has it been there? Even while performing everyday actions, a writer’s creative mind should be alert and thinking.
The smallest conflict like dropping a piece of gum can inspire a larger story idea, so be aware of any difficulties, no matter how trivial they may seem.
It’s easy to get frustrated at your novel. To cope with this, acknowledge the fact that you should take responsibility for your actions. No one is going to get you to sit on the chair and begin writing something.
Using the internet to search for inspirational quotes may also be a good idea. Attempt to imagine that you only have an hour left to write in your life. How would you utilize your time then? These tactics genuinely benefit people who have a lack of motivation to begin writing in the first place.
Once the story is written, no matter how bad you may think it is, editing will be infinitely easier. Without anything written, nothing can be done. Even if you don’t enjoy what you wrote, you have something to work with and improve on.
Who cares if writers can be unpaid and misunderstood? We wage war against lassitude and we prevail. As long as you set your mind to it, any beginning writer can succeed in writing a novel. Focus, inspire, and motivate. That’s all there is to it.
